Delicate by Nature
Florida's diverse landscapes and multiple ecosystems make it unique among all others.
It also means a greater diversity of wildlife and nature. This distinctive landscape features terrain that is not easily comprehended, including the Everglades, wetlands, sand ridges, and savannas. There are oak hammocks, natural cold springs, and extensive systems of rivers and streams. We have a responsibility to preserve and care for it. Our early founders recognized this and established a plan to alleviate the strain on our delicate environment while promoting responsible growth. Our already overburdened roads and bridges were not designed to accommodate the current traffic, let alone the addition of thousands more commuters, trucks, and buses.
The current administration faces challenges in balancing unprecedented growth with necessary preservation. Our entire state is under immense pressure to accommodate the influx of new residents. It is our duty to remind elected officials, appointed administrators, commissioners, and planners of the importance of resisting these pressures and respecting our lands and the integrity of our home. They are our representatives and guardians. We elected them to protect Florida and the stunning nature that surrounds us. We must provide them with guidance and support to make informed decisions. They need to consider the long-term consequences of their choices today. Like the leaders before them, they should preserve and honor this legacy while creating one of their own that will be respected and appreciated for generations to come.

A Time for Concern
Trampled upon for decades, Florida's environment cannot endure any more abuse. Its cries for help are going unheard and its pleas are ignored.
