Delicate by Nature

Florida's diverse landscapes and multiple ecosystems make it unique among all others.

It also means a greater variety of wildlife and nature. This unique landscape consists of terrain that is not easily understood, such as Everglades, wetlands, sand ridges, and savannas. There are Oak Hammocks, natural cold springs, and vast systems of rivers and streams. We have a duty to preserve and care for it. Our early founders understood this and created a plan to reduce the strain on our delicate environment and to grow responsibly. Our already overburdened roads and bridges were not meant to handle the traffic we have now, no less adding thousands more commuters, trucks, and busses.

The current administration struggles to balance unprecedented growth and necessary preservation. Our entire state is under tremendous pressure to accommodate this influx of new residents. It is our responsibility to remind the elected officials, appointed administrators, commissioners, and planners of the need to resist these pressures and respect these lands and the integrity of our home. They are our representatives and keepers. We elected them to protect Florida and the beautiful nature that surrounds us. We must give them guidance and support to make the right decisions. They must consider the long-term consequences of the choices they make today. Like the leaders before them, they must preserve and respect this legacy and leave a legacy of their own that will be honored and appreciated for generations.

No Equal

The white sandy beaches of the gulf shores, the oak hammocks of the central state, the wonder called Everglades, the marshes of Lake Okeechobee, The savannas and beautiful lagoons of the treasure coast, The magnificent Keys. Florida's unique outdoors cannot be matched.

A Time for Concern

Trampled upon for decades, Florida's environment cannot endure any more abuse. Its cries for help are going unheard and its pleas are ignored.
